Rubem Robierb
Bio
Growing up in Brazil, Rubem Robierb’s first artistic expressions was poetry and photography, which have become his trademark and authorial expression. In 2008 Robierb relocated to Miami to open his studio in the Wynwood art district and began to pursue painting and sculpture. In 2019, invited by NYC Parks Program Robierb debuted his large-scale sculpture Dream Machine in NY. At the moment he is working on a large sculpture project tribute to Health Care Workers.
Statement
When I left Brazil, I knew I wanted to show our potential creativity to the world. My first solo show called “Bresil Autrement” in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Milan and Zurich gave me that understanding, and I moved forward. In 2016, the show “… and the TRUTH will set you free” became a big part of my efforts to analyses contemporary society. Attracting the viewer with enigmatic aesthetics, my work is highly influenced by biology, psychology and technology combined together to evoke a strong emotional reaction of the viewer.
