Bio

Born in 1975 in Belém do Pará, Cláudia Porto currently lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. Attended Textile Design at the Panamerican School of Art and Design, in São Paulo, and participated in the Group of Practical-Theoretical Questions of Contemporary Painting at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage, in Rio de Janeiro.
Represented by Galeria Patricia Costa, she had an individual exhibition called “Crossing the mirror” at the Gallery in 2017.

Statement

Crossing everything for the whole from near and far, it results in a work of delicacy in the face of complex decisions and infinite possibilities of creating and re-creating.
From small to big formats, polyptychs, series and different supports [...], the painting uses a wide range of paints [...], textures, gradients, brushstrokes, details and whole, putting together figurative and abstract qualities, nourishing other meanings.
