Statement
My paintings show bodies and symbols of local and mass culture in different contexts, fragmented and juxtaposed. The mains references pertain to the influences of migratory flows that occurred between Japan and Brazil. As a grandson of Japanese immigrants, I have an output that deals with images from Japanese TV shows, magazines and with immigrants. In this sense, my paintings present us with a fragmented identity, a collage of references: a “cultural glitch”.
