Virgínia Di Lauro
Bio
Since 2011, she has been living in Porto Alegre, where she is pursuing a B.A. in Visual Arts, at UFRGS, after having attended classes in Fashion Design and Art History.
In 2018, she had the solo exhibition “Webs in the Void” at Instituto Estadual de Artes Visuais. In 2020, she participated in the artist residency “Paths to an image”, in Rio de Janeiro, with the artist Frederico Arêde, and attended the course Creativity Master Class, taught by Charles Watson at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage. She has works in the collection of the Museum of Art of Rio de Janeiro.
Statement
Using the body, including her own, as well as drawing on poetry, memory, dreams, internal processes, I develop my production in various media, such as videos, photographs, gifs and paintings.
