Roberta Carvalho
Bio
She is a master's degree student in Arts at UNESP (PPGARTES). Among the exhibitions, shows and festivals where she has taken part, the following stand out: “Amazon Connection” (Brussels, 2018), Arte Pará 2017, 7th Mostra SP de Fotografia (São Paulo, 2016), “Pigments” (Martinique, 2013) and “Tierra Prometida” (Barcelona, 2012). Her works are part of the collections of the Museu de Arte do Rio (the first augmented reality artwork in this museum), Casa das 11 Janelas Museum of Contemporary Art (Pará) and Museum of the Federal University of Pará.
Statement
Her works insert the digital photographic image or video footage into the public space, whether urban or rural. Several constructed and projected images are of common people, often marginalized by society, reflecting a symbolic relationship with the surroundings of the environment where the artistic action takes place, raising identity and social issues, as in “Symbiosis”, a series started in 2007, where the faces of riverside people of the Amazon are projected in green areas in those same communities.
